The Ottoman Lieutenant is an upcoming American Turkish war drama film weaved around the initial years of the First World War. The film is set around a woman, from Middle East who, after facing injustices in her own country, sets out to make future in the land of opportunities, the United States of America. An American doctor Jude helps her makes the transition. He brings her with him to the Ottoman Empire where he serves his country as one of the most prolific doctors around. Her life goes smooth for some time, until the time she falls in love with a high ranking official from the enemy side. Her loyalty is now being questioned by the very people who supported her. The film will then focus on the woman as she fights all the forces that work against her in order to make her love successful amidst all the violence and deaths. The film stars Michiel Huisman, Hera Hilmar, Josh Hartnett and Ben Kingsley in the main roles. It was put into the theatres for an Oscar-qualifying run in December
